What a Dummy Ticket Should Cost in India — and Why Prices Vary

The price tells you a lot about what is being sold, in both directions.
Search for dummy tickets in India and you will find prices from zero to about ₹3,000 for what is described as the same thing. It is not the same thing, and the price is a reasonable signal of which version you are being sold.
Free
Generators. A template with a random booking reference. Costs nothing because nothing happens — no seat is held, no system is touched. The document looks right until someone checks it, and then it is a misrepresentation problem rather than a saving. Covered fully in the legality post.
₹200 to ₹500
Usually resellers with thin margins, and quality varies enormously. Some are genuine reservations issued at volume. Some are generators with a payment page. The tell is whether they will tell you to verify the PNR on the airline's own site. Ask before paying, not after.
₹700 to ₹1,200
Where genuine reservations sit sustainably. Holding a seat through a GDS has real cost, and having a person check names against passport convention and confirm the route operates has real cost. We charge ₹799 per traveller, which is at the lower end of that band, because our volume is high and the process is mostly the same work each time.
₹1,500 to ₹3,000
Typically travel agencies bundling the reservation with advice, or charging a premium for urgency. Not dishonest, and if you want someone to review your whole file it can be worth it. But the itinerary itself is not a better document at ₹2,500 than at ₹799.
What should be included at any honest price
- A record locator that resolves on the operating airline's site
- Names in passport convention, checked before issue
- A route that actually operates on your dates
- A hold long enough to cover your appointment — 10 to 14 days
- A plain PDF with no watermark or provider branding
- A correction or re-issue if something is wrong
Compared with the alternative
A real return fare to Europe from India is ₹45,000 to ₹80,000, mostly non-refundable. Against that, the entire price debate between ₹500 and ₹2,000 is noise. The only question worth asking is whether the reference resolves.
