Why a held reservation works for a New Zealand application
Immigration New Zealand asks visitor visa applicants to show they have onward travel arrangements or the funds to buy them, along with enough money for the stay itself. A held reservation covers the first part cleanly and costs nothing against the outcome.
New Zealand applications are largely document-driven and online, so consistency matters: the dates you enter, the dates on your itinerary and the nights covered by your accommodation should agree. Many applicants combine New Zealand with an Australian leg, in which case the sequencing needs to be obvious from the documents.
